About Ellen

Ellen graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Communications and minors in Art and Art History. Ellen has coaching credentials from The International Coaching Federation and the Center for Executive Coaching.

Her background most recently has been as an Executive Function Coach and Coordinator, and as a Career Coach at a technology bootcamp, where she has taught a diverse group of learners, aged 18–60, one on one, in a group setting, virtually, and in person. Here, she has worked with many individuals with executive function challenges to help them achieve their goals in a fast-paced learning environment, and to help them find their right match in a rewarding tech position, as they made a career transition.

Before coaching, she was the Casting Department Manager for various CBS shows, including Survivor and the Amazing Race. In this role, she managed teams of up to 40, coordinated events (from national to local to small groups), and ran the department and budget. This took an enormous amount of organization, planning, and developing systems, which she uses in her work today.

As a Casting Department Producer and Recruiter, she recruited, interviewed, vetted, coached, and presented people for roles on the shows. Here, she spoke to people from all walks of life, from farmers from small towns who had never been on a plane before, to network executives, of all ages. The core of this work, getting to know individuals and their strengths, continues to be her passion in her work today.

Ellen looks for the unique set of skills and way of learning in each person. She has expertise coaching in time management skills, focus techniques, balancing many responsibilities and task ownership and accountability, and strives to use creativity and positivity when coaching (and really in life!). She is dedicated to helping individuals find what works for their unique brain and life circumstances. Her coaching approach blends creativity, empathy, and practical strategy.

In her free time, Ellen hangs out with her family and dogs, loves to see live music, draw, and travel to the beach.

Feedback on Ellen

Carol L.
I am writing to share my experience working with Ellen. She is an amazing coach — flexible, insightful, caring, fun, and a great listener. So far over the past ten weeks, we have worked through a variety of topics, including social interactions, personal relationships, public speaking preparation, perfectionism, managing cognitive overload, and domestic responsibilities. With each challenge, Ellen has immediately risen to the task, providing the structure and wisdom that has enabled me to grow tremendously as an individual. She has a knack for distilling complex topics into an easy-to-digest fashion and offers further insights when appropriate.

Since working with her my life has improved significantly, and I am always looking forward to our next session. I couldn't imagine working with a better guide!

As a recent college graduate, our son was living at home and struggling to transition to independent adulthood — personally, socially, and professionally. While our support as parents was well-intentioned, we realized he needed guidance from someone other than us. Ellen provided the structure, accountability, and encouragement he needed to turn his potential into action. She helped him build the confidence and skills to secure his first full-time job and move into a place with a roommate.

Just as important, Ellen kept us informed throughout the process while always reinforcing our son's independence. Seeing him thrive has been incredibly rewarding, and we credit much of that growth to Ellen. We wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone facing a meaningful personal or professional transition.

I have had the privilege of working closely with Ellen in her role as a Pathway Program Director at Tech Elevator, and I am consistently impressed by her exceptional contributions to our coding bootcamp. With over two decades of experience, Ellen brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Her deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by both learners and employers in this competitive field is invaluable.

She has a genuine passion for understanding what motivates individuals and helping them achieve their aspirations. Having seen Ellen in action, I can attest to her remarkable talent for listening and providing targeted guidance, which leads to the success of our students. Her mission to empower individuals with the necessary skills, confidence, and connections for thriving in the technology industry is both admirable and impactful.

From our first interaction, I perceived Ellen's professionalism and expertise. …. This kind of dedication to subject matter knowledge set Ellen apart from any other career development support person I had ever encountered.

As time went on and I had occasion to speak directly with Ellen, I discovered a skill set even more valuable than her obvious combination of career-services-specific skill and knowledge: Ellen is genuinely invested in the success of the students she guides. …… Ellen displayed genuine investment in and understanding of my specific circumstances and needs--as I know she also did for any of my peers who reached out to her directly with questions or unique needs. ……. Ellen truly loves providing expert support to each individual on their specific path to professional success. The formal terms of her job description could not possibly capture the way that Ellen lights up at the opportunity to support, guide, and encourage the students under her direction. She has been indispensable to my success.
